Your email, for signing in

We ask for an email address so we can send you a sign-in link. That is the only thing it is used for. There is no password to store, no newsletter, and no marketing mail. We do not send your address anywhere except to the service that delivers that one link.

Your location is never stored

When you file a report or check in, your browser offers your GPS position. It is sent once, the server measures whether it is close enough to the course you named, and it keeps a single true-or-false answer. The coordinates themselves are never written down — not in the database, not in a log. The same is true of the “near you” list on the home page: your position goes into that one request and nowhere else. You can decline the prompt and the app still works.

Cookies

Two, both necessary, neither for tracking:

• age_ok — remembers that you said you were 21 so we stop asking. It holds the number 1 and nothing else.
• session — keeps you signed in after you follow a sign-in link.

No ads, no selling data

There is no advertising on Cart Homey. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, and there are no third-party ad or data-broker trackers on these pages. We do count page views in aggregate so we know whether anyone is using the thing.

What is public

Your handle, your reports, and your place on the leaderboard are visible to everyone. Your email address is not.
